REGISTRATION, PAYMENT, CANCELLATION, AND REFUND POLICY

LOCAL STUDENTS

Canadian citizens, permanent residents, holders of a Quebec selection certificate, diplomats and their direct family (spouse and children), refugees (asylum seekers)

Depending on the program, ALC Montreal reserves the right to reduce course hours by 50% in the event that fewer than 3 students are present in class, and to transform the group class into a semi-private or private class, without any additional charges.

REFUND POLICY FOR DAY AND NIGHT CLASSES TYPES OF CANCELLATION PENALTIES

  1. Before the initial date of the session*
  2. a) 7 + days before the initial date of the session no penalties will be applied to the cost of the course.

Course fees will be refunded in full in the event that they are cancelled by ALC Montreal.

Course fees will be refunded in full, minus the cost of the evaluation test, if they are cancelled by the student, when applicable.

ALC Montreal reserves the right to cancel courses if the number of students enrolled is insufficient.

The fees for pedagogical materials are non-refundable after the student has taken possession of the materials.

The  fee for level testing is non-refundable, if applicable.

  1. 2. After the beginning of the session* courses that the student has attended must be payed for (calculated by the weekly rate)

Courses in which the student is enrolled, inclusive from the initial date of the course to the date of reception of their written termination must be payed (calculated by the weekly rate/each week that has been started will be charged in full)

Any reduced price granted at the time of inscription will not be taken into consideration in the case of a cancellation. Refund will be calculated on the regular price.

A penalty of 10% of the administration fee, or $50 if the fee exceeds this amount will be applied to the outstanding balance. If you decide to keep the outstanding balance in your ALC account the 10% penalty will not be applied.

The fees for pedagogical materials are non-refundable after the student has taken possession of the materials.

The  fee for level testing is non-refundable, if applicable.

The administration fee of $55 payable at registration is non-refundable, if applicable.

  1. Postponement to a later session for the same program- If the postponement is made 7 + days before the initial date of the session, there will be no penalty (see point 1a).

If the postponement is made fewer than 7 days before the initial date of the session, there will be no penalty on the course fees (see point 1b). Courses in which the student is enrolled, inclusive from the initial date of the course to the date of reception of their written postponement must be payed (calculated by the weekly rate/each week that has been started will be charged in full). The outstanding balance will be retained in the students’ ALC Montreal account, and will be considered as a deposit for the subsequent session.

Once the student uses their balance for a new language course in a subsequent session, they must register for the entirety of the new session, paying the difference between their outstanding balance and the total cost of the new course.

ALC Montreal complies with Article 46 of the regulations under the law on the protection of the consumer.

Cancellation Procedure for a Class in a Private Class: A private lesson may be canceled and postponed provided the student communicates by email with or by telephone ALC before 3:00 pm the day before the class and not the teacher, except what it will be charged. The course must be caught within two weeks of the cancellation. Otherwise it will be charged even if you have not attended classes.

Important: * The previous day means between Monday and Friday. If you have scheduled a class on Monday, the cancellation must be received on Friday before 15:00
Group: A class as part of a group class cannot be canceled individually or overtaken.

*The refund will only be made to the payer using the same method as the initial payment, except for payments made by debit or cash, which will be reimbursed by cheque.
