TOEFL IBT at ALC Montréal

The Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-Based Test (TOEFL iBT*) is the basis from which American universities judge a candidate’s level of both written and spoken academic English. These institutions are evermore demanding and the TOEFL iBT score plays a big role in the admissions process.

The TOEFL iBT applies to all levels, from beginner to advanced.

TOEFL iBT® Contents

The TOEFL iBT is in English and is taken online. There are four sections (Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing) and takes approximately four and a half hours to complete, including the initial registration.

Combine the four skills: Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing

During the test, you are asked to complete certain tasks that seem to interconnect the skills, for example:

• Read, listen, then speak your response to some questions.
• Read, listen, then speak your response to one question.
• Read, listen, then write your response to one question.
