The Language Camp organized by ALC is an exceptional program combining language courses, sports and field trips together to give students a rich and diverse educational experience with a strong base in French FLE and/or English ESL.
It’s the perfect solution for students who want a fun, active and stimulating summer. This program is an opportunity to learn in a fun atmosphere and with the solid support of dynamic, motivated teachers.
English – French – Immersion Monday to Friday

This program is divided into themes, each of which is explored during a two-week workshop.
In the mornings, students participate in courses focused on establishing and developing vocabulary and phrase structure. These courses are supplemented with audiovisual technology.
The course is based on two essential elements: first, lessons are presented with television series to get students interested and motivated. By presenting the lessons in the context of real-life situations, students have the chance to identify personally with the characters and thereby progress more quickly in the chosen language.
Topics and grammar points acquired in the morning course are then reinforced in the afternoon workshops via defined themes and oral practice. The object of these workshops is to combine students’ independent knowledge with actual practice. This process reinforces both written and oral skills while also stimulating the personal tastes of students. In addition, participation in the interactive training project gives students the personal satisfaction of achieving something for themselves and not just for their teacher.
Using the most interesting projects, a series of theme-based activities will be organized outside the Academy Charlemagne, as well as one or two recreational sports activities each week.
This program is offered in small groups and can be taken for 2 to 6 weeks.
Workshops :
A: Film Production: July 5th–16th, 2010
Choose the city, the neighbourhood and the characters to suit your imagination.
You will produce your own film from A to Z, creating the dialogues and scenery as well as the music. When finished, you will receive your own personal DVD copy.
B: Theatre and Talent: July 19th-30th, 2010
This workshop allows you to explore every aspect of your hidden talents: music, singing, performance, scene production, etc.
Your imagination and creativity will be put to the test!
C: Performance and Society: August 2nd-13th, 2010
Use your camera and your sense of style to create your own reality. With the help of photos, drawings and text, participants will produce their own newspaper. A personalized montage of impressions is the goal.
FEES:
2 Weeks:
Language course (15 hours/week) + Course workshop including field trips and activities (15 hours/week) + Accommodation with a host family with a private room and full pension: 1438$CAN. Includes enrolment fees, course materials and transportation costs for field trips and other activities.
Host Family: Arrival is specified for the Sunday before the summer camp begins. Departure is on the Saturday after the cummer camp has concluded. Airport pick-up and drop-off will be arranged by the host family.
Enrolment Deadlines: Enrol before March 31, 2010 and receive a 10% discount. Option A: April 30, 2010 – Option B: May 14, 2010 – Option C: May 28, 2010.
Medical Insurance: Proof of medical insurance must be provided to ALC. If not, parents will be charged an additional 1.95$/day for supplementary medical coverage. Insurance fees must be paid no later than 2 weeks before arrival in Montreal. A separate invoice will be provided.
