2010 Program: Standard and Specialised Courses
At ALC, you can register for courses in French FLE, English ESL or Spanish at any time during the year and complete all six levels in the space of 48 weeks.
ALC offers a variety of programs adapted to your specific language needs and availability, whether you decide to study full-time or just a few hours each week. Mandarin and German courses are offered exclusively on a part-time or individual basis. All courses are given in groups of 3-9 people per level, or a maximum of 12 participants in the summer session.
The course program offered by ALC guarantees maximum progress in a short period of time and all courses are based on the four language components.
Save more with ALC. In addition to the free course options offered to students registered in the regular program, ALC offers a course discount depending on the season during which you decide to study.
All Year: Regressive fee structure, meaning that the hourly cost of the course decreases when the overall number of course hours increases. Weekly fees and fees for the sessions mentioned below are the highest. The regressive fee structure also applies to individual courses.
Course fees for Canadians and Permanent Residents:
7$/hour for all programs offered at ALC.
This price is valid only for those who can present proof of identification.
ALC offers all registered students free access to the Language Lab
Why?
Supplementary training in the Language Lab helps students improve considerably in the three key points for the development of listening skills:
Sound reproduction: The voice reproduces sounds perceived by the ears.
Sound articulation: As the listening skills improve, pronunciation skills naturally and unconsciously improve as well.
Durability: Repetition training in the Language Lab stimulates both memorization and automatic voicing of sounds.
Each language has its own dominant frequencies.
Comparing French with English, we see that they share no common dominant frequency. This explains in large part the difficulty of language acquisition.
Good listening skills are a determining factor in the success of your language study.
By focusing directly on listening, pronunciation and comprehension, training in the Language Lab stimulates your inner ear’s sense of perception.

The program is designed to provide the necessary language and communications skills in order to perform the professional tasks required in your chosen domain.
These courses address each of the four language components with the goal of developing your ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written correspondence, using vocabulary adapted to your professional needs.
Based on authentic material relevant to each sector, these courses allow you to quickly assimilate the language needed for your professional activities.
